The Colour

Colour changes how hair is seen. Light, depth, tone and contrast. Used with intention, colour can reveal shape, alter proportion or change the character of the hair entirely.

THE APPROACH

Colour is part of the design. It can be almost imperceptible or impossible to miss. A shift in tone. More depth. More light. A placement that changes the way a cut moves. Or colour used simply because you want colour. The technique follows the idea.

THE CONSULTATION

Before we mix. We consider the hair as it is: its natural colour, previous colour, condition and texture. Then we talk about what you want to change, what you want to keep and how you want to live with it. From there, we make a plan.

CONDITION

Know when to stop. Colour is chemistry. The condition of the hair sets the parameters. We work within them, adapting the process where necessary and never pushing the hair further simply to reach a result in one appointment. Sometimes doing less gives us more to work with next time.

DAVINES

The colour we work with. Davines is our principal colour partner. Its professional colour systems give our colourists a broad palette to work with, from subtle tonal changes and glosses to permanent and creative colour. Performance matters. So does how a product is made. Davines’ approach to formulation and production is one of the reasons we choose to work with them.

MAINTENANCE

Beyond the first appointment. Colour changes as it is worn. It fades, softens and grows. We consider that from the beginning, alongside how often you want to return and how much maintenance you want from your colour.

COLOUR APPOINTMENTS

Start here. New colour clients begin with a consultation and skin test at least 48 hours before their colour appointment. It gives us time to see the hair, understand the idea and plan the work. Colour appointments are available across Brighton, Hove, Lewes and Worthing.
